The Lares Valley is one of the most picturesque in the southern part of Cusco, home of many traditional weavers and farmers. The people live day to day, growing and knitting what they eat and wear. Each day is reasonably paced with ample time to enjoy the incredible scenery, to walk is hard but this is incredibly compensated with the landscape, lunch alongside cascading waterfalls; appreciate the life of the Andean farmer and we could share time with them to tell us about their activities, this with help of the tour guide.

DAY 1: Cusco- Lares- Wakawasi
At approximately 6am we will pick you up at your hotel to set course to the village of Lares where we will start hiking. During this journey we will make a stop in the village of Calca, where you will be able to visit the local market and have a hot drink or other supplies you forgot. When arriving at Lares we will visit the hot springs where you will be able to enjoy the hot water and have lunch. After lunch we will start our hike towards the first campsite in Huacawasi.
DAY 2: Wakahuasi- Yanahuara
We will wake up early and have some coca tea before breakfast. After breakfast we will start hiking towards the pass of Wakawasi. The hike will take about 4 hours and will be very steep uphill. After reaching the highest point we will descend and pass a beautiful lagoon before having lunch next to the river. You will be able to recuperate while our cooks prepare a delicious lunch for you. After some rest we will continue our trek to Manantay- Yanahuara where we will spend the night.
DAY 3: Yanahuara- Ollantaytambo- Aguas Calientes
We will have breakfast around 6.30 am then we will continue our trek down to Yanahuara. You will be able to enjoy the rich biodiversity and change of fauna and flora during this 1 hour walk that will end in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Then we will take a local bus to get to Ollantaytambo where we will have lunch. After lunch, depending on the train ticket time, we will have the chance to visit the Inca ruins in Ollantaytambo. Finally we will take the train to reach our final destination of the day, the town of Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night in a hotel.
DAY 4: Aguas Calientes- Machu Picchu- Cusco
We will leave our hotel after breakfast and head for Machu Picchu (2400m/7874f) by tourist bus. After a guided tour (2 hours) around the archaeological site, including information about life and culture of the Incas, you will have enough time to enjoy Machu Picchu and Wayna Picchu (2750m/9022f) on your own. Tourist busses will offer you the descent back to Aguas Calientes, from where we will take the train to Ollantaytambo, where our bus awaits you to continue to Cusco.
